Why is it that exotic beauty is all the rage in the modeling world yet?

people claim that European beauty is the standard beauty. I am asking this question because people in America seem to have a narrow mind of what beauty is. Beauty has no boundaries, it is not limited to just white people. There are beautiful people of all colors and features. I used to be a scout and I would always look for those who stand-out.Why is it that exotic beauty is all the rage in the modeling world yet?
i think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. but the media always tries to put up this ';standard'; of what beauty is that can never realistically be reached ....therefore making life so much more complicated than it should be for most girls.. love yourself and be a good person because in the end thats really all that matters.Why is it that exotic beauty is all the rage in the modeling world yet?
Yes that is correct,there is beautiful people in all colors and features,and isn't certainly not just white people.
I think all kinds of beauty is ';the rage';. There are a lot of famous and popular models from all over the world.

I think the so called ';European Beauty'; is boring because its like seeing the same thing over and over.


I like seeing different types of girls with different looks that arent common or familiar.





I really like watching America's Next Top Model because that show has all kinds of different looking girls on there.

urm... european beautiy is the standard because urm... your in the west? go to asia, very different, go to africa, yep still different.
they call it the standard of beauty because it was for quite some time and now all that is changing (minus a few die-hards) personally i think it's all good, anything that screws up the status quo is good in my books
Because few people would actually think most models are that good looking if they met them in person. Most are too tall/gawky/flat-chested for the average white male person to find attractive.
I'm white, and I have always thought that the country that produced, as a whole, the most beautiful women was Ethiopia, with Egypt being second.





The fashion industry is centered in a few cities (London, Paris, New York, Sydney) and these are in predominantly white countries. So they naturally end up with predominantly white models, which become society's baseline. It's not narrow-minded, merely lack of exposure.
how about you become a famous fashion designer and then you can pick all the short, voluptuous, brown girls to model your clothing!! that way i can be the next tyra banks. okay THANKS!
Anyone can be pretty. Exotic is fierce.
Beauty ';standards'; differ all over the world. I'm sure in Africa their idea of beauty is different from China's.

i always wondered this too.... maybe that is why the youth and teens seem to think they should all be a size 4 and 5'9 with perfect blond or brown hair and a slight rosey or olive color and perky boobs..... they all seem to look the same... maybe cuz they sell to the ';all american girl';....... the girl who is generally a ';perfected'; version of what people think american women should look like......
