At what age do children recognize beauty?

In a cultural sense, since beauty is variable for different cultures, at what age do children begin acknowledging what that culture considers attractive as such? At what age do children recognize beauty?
I know from psychological tests that babies prefer round faces over others. This is across many cultures. So, from the very beginnings, round shapes especially round faces must be considered beautiful. This has to be instinct. Faces must have balance for disease or health problems can cause lack of balance and that will make us to be not as beautiful as others. Our idea of beauty comes from that which is beneficial to our survival. Pictures of lake and streams are beautiful for water is absolutely needed for drinking and bathing. Someone pointed out to me that a sidewalk that curves like a nature path is more beautiful than a straight sidewalk for we recognize it as natural instead of unnatural.

Edit: everyone has an idea of beauty for without it you would have a hard time making a decision, even someone born w/o anyone in the woods would pick a good looking apple over a bad looking one, it seems to me.At what age do children recognize beauty?
My mom used to squish a doll's face when I was a baby. When it was squished and disproportionate, she'd say 'U-gee', and when it was full and looked the way it was supposed to, she'd say 'pwetty'.

Beauty's trained by parents and society, at whatever age they feel like training them. Take, for example, feral children. They do not have an idea of beauty.
depends whether its a guy or a girl girls notice way before guys they also get to notice beauty and they always have to look cute they notice beauty when they are about 8 years old or in other words 3 or 4 grade boys are about like forever they are always worrying about what they where they dont want to look bad for the girls

probably 2

i have a video of when i was two for christmas there was a doll and a teddybear and i cred and freaked out when i got the teddy bear but when i got the doll i was happy. i still have the doll in my time capsule!
I don't think the culture factor kicks in at 2 or 3 years old. I think at that point, all children will gravitate towards similar forms of ';universal'; beauty.
2-3 yrs old

give any 2-3 yr old 2 dolls that look completely different

they will pick one

ask why they chose that one

they will tell u its b/c one is more pretty over the other

this also tells u about sterotypes n all that
