In every beauty pageant I have seen, the contestants are always (usually spray) tanned. I find the fake, orange-tinted tans hideous and would love to see a pageant where fair skin is praised. Does such a thing exist?Does a beauty pageant for fair-skinned women exist?

A lot of those are more ';natural'; or scholarship pageants... a few I can think of off the top of my head are American Coed, Cinderella, and National American Miss. Many pageants like these frown upon orange-looking tans, and some even don't allow it. There have been many winners of these and other pageants who have been pale... just look at this picture of the current Miss America!

well i have been in multiple ';fake tanned'; pageants as you refer to them. it is just part of it. if you take tans out of the pageant it is like taking passing out of a football game. it is just part of it. yes, i am all for natural pale skin too, it looks good on many people. just don't be in a pageant if you're one of them. simple as that.
Yes, there are many. Teen USA is a great example. The newley crowned winner is very pale, and looks very natural. Also it looks for the real girl. There are many out there. Look towards most scholarship pageants. They are never too dark.

People are told that celebrities are beautiful, and they believe it. Most people believe whatever the media tells them will give them a sense of community with others who fall for the crap (which sadly fills the void for people due to lack of community nowadays, celebs are what really replaced Main Street).





Some celebrities really are beautiful, like Emma Watson, but some, like Angelina Jolie, are quite overrated. Unfortunately, Emma Watson's brushed aside, seen as just another child actor (even though this 19 year old kid has more talent and beauty than many ever attain). But in general, celebrities in the past o'erall really did look great. But nowadays, more overrated than anything.
They are not beautiful to everyone. Many people are pretty/handsome, but to me, beauty is what you are inside. The attitude you carry is what determines your beauty.
That saying is only true to an extent. Studies show that most people see certain similar features as attractive.





I'm an oddball though. I don't find celebrities like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie attractive.
Yeah, people are brainwashed, and go with the crowd.

I beleive that some parts of the beauty therapy course are very difficult and not many stay the course. However, I would have a word with the college tutor who may be able to advise you accordingly.





Not sure about the SVQ route as I thought the beauty therapy course was an HNC qualification and that you would need certain GCSE's or module SVQ's to get on that course.

I'd go with subjective. If you talk to anyone you know it's particularly obvious, because otherwise every person would find the same people attractive which doesn't happen. Everyone likes different people, otherwise half the population might be alone because they are not considered beautiful by a collective. Even the kind of people that a lot of people may universally find unattractive are still deemed attractive by some people. For example a mother will always think her own children are beautiful even if nobody else does. It's just your own opinion.

I do not beleive the evolutionary perspective would be limmited to universitality though i see whre you are comeing from.





Something that bothers me about many - maybe even most - women is that they do not find the male body or at least the male genitals sexually appealing or beautiful. In an evolutionary sense this makes no sense. Why would they find something necessary to procreation repulsive. Surely this is not a commonality amongst men when referring to female attributes. But for whatever reason, as we can see here, is a theme not universal but particular to the various sexes.





And perhaps, the point in instilling the concept of ';beauty' in our minds was not just to draw us towards things that benefit our survival but for us to appreciate life. Life has many forms, there are infinate combinations of things, and conceptual and emotional attatchements that we make to the suymbols around us and in this giant collage of life perhaps it would be too complex for evolution to give us ';specific things'; to find beautiful.





But there are sort of universitalities we taste things as sweet that are consumable for the most part, (antifreeze exluded) and find discusting what is not consumable. (Oysters as an exception :P) When we see shiny things we often find this pleasent, maybe this sense of beauty is in us because in nature all that is shiny is water and we must find the sparkles of water beautiful to be drawn to it better.





I think that there are things that are nearly universal that people find beautiful, like sunsets and star skapes. We were evolved into this world and have evolved to find it beautiful. Some things are subjective. Like furniture. I like tacky happy furniture and my wife likes fancy stuff. The universitality and subjectivness are both a part of perception of beauty. It is the specific reasons why that is speculative.

Dont have an exact amount but not too much. I've learned to do my own manicures, pedicures, hair, and makeup. I probably spend about 50-60 dollars a month on hair products though (i use Redken). I have very short eyelashes and my old mascara wasn't helping at all. I just so happened to be talking to my mom and she recommended Loreal Double Extension. I figured, what the heck, I'll try it. Well, I love it. My eyelashes look much longer now. Not like extensions though. I did that once too. The only junk thing is because it is a 2-step mascara, you go through the bottle twice as fast.

Red looks good on girls with dark hair. It depends on the shade and style, but usually red dresses don't look Christmassy unless its that time of year or you dress it that way with accessories. It would be easier to give color recommendations if knew what you looked like with a pic, but maybe a nice blue. Good luck!

I think that the American ideal of female beauty is the blonde bombshell who's curvy with long hair and and basically a nice body. On the other hand the European ideal of female beauty is more natural. Nice facial features and a more 'smart' look. Yes, I will agree it's a person's personality and sincerity that matter most, but the answers above seem to make it seem that appearance doesn't matter at all. There has to be a balance, you know?





In all reality, it does. To everyone. It is the initial attraction, from there, that person must be nice, sincere, make you laugh, etc. Whatever you like.





I love people who I know will always protect me, I like to feel safe. I like people who I can always tell are genuinely more happy when around me, it makes me feel loved. I like when I can tell that that person really cares about the people in the world around them, and aren't self-centered.





Personally, I find some strange things very attractive.


I like very scrawny pale guys, with long shaggy hair and either VERY dark or VERY light eyes, not so much for in between. I hate blonde hair on guys, but love it on girls when it's natural. Long eyelashes, sad eyes, lol...weird stuff. It all depends.





Sometimes a wonderful person comes in a less-than-attractrive package, but their personality makes them seem more attractive to you, that's what matters most.





But, everyone knows what they like ;].

Hair dye is typically put on clean dry hair although a little hairspray is probably ok. If you really use a lot and use the heavy duty stuff, I'd wash and dry first just to make sure there is no ';barrier'; in the way.

I love SALLYS, especially the electric Banana hair dye. Yes, you can use hairspray. The chemicals in the hairspray will only react if you are using a paste hair dye, and the reaction is sticy hair!
yes it ok to shampoo. But also keep in mind if at anytime you had your hair frosted every time you shampoo it will lighten up. reds are the colors that fade the most

if you want to lose weight there are lots of diets you can try but i think all you have to do is walk for 45 -1 hour a day always eat breakfast then snack on fruit have a sandwitch for lunch and a small snack in the afternoon and then a stirfry with brown rice or something like that for dinner take it slow you will lose weight over time and if you want long hair use shampoo from the hair dressers its the best the ones from the supermarket no matter how much $$ it has dishwashing liquid in it dont use the hair dryer to much
i can't tell you much about your hair except wait, and get it trimmed regularly. as for skinnier, don't do a crazy diet plan. the only one i've found that works and helps you have better eating habits afterward is weight watchers. you can do it on your own, too. it's really the healthiest one out there and after you finish it you still know how to eat better, and you're not dependent on some frozen food that's packed with preservatives [gross!]. as for tanning, try jergen's tanning lotion. it works very quickly.
